Frank Verboven is professor of economics at the KU Leuven, fellow of the Centre for Economic Policy Research (London), and member of the Economic Advisory Group of Competition Policy at DG-Competition of the European Commission.
His research focuses on industrial organization, in particular the econometric analysis of market power, with applications to competition policy and regulation. His most recent work has looked at the liberalization of the European car distribution system, competition in liberal professions (such as pharmacies), policy reform in higher education, and investment in ATM networks.
He currently teaches industrial organization, empirical methods for competition policy and micro-economics.
He has advised the European Commission, national competition authorities, and leading companies on various cases, including mergers, cartels and damages, and vertical agreements.
